Practice Philosophy

Our practice is dedicated to providing medical care for your family, from the newborn infant to the elderly person. We provide care for expectant mothers and deliver their babies at Virginia Baptist Hospital.

We believe that prevention and screening for health problems are an important part of staying healthy. Your physician may suggest periodic exams, tests and other procedures. Please feel free to discuss these suggestions with your physician.

We are part of a teaching program connected to the University of Virginia Medical School. Our mission is to teach Family Medicine while giving excellent patient care. Your care is provided by resident physicians who have finished medical school and are receiving advanced training in family medicine, and by our faculty physicians who are board certified and hold teaching appointments with the university.

Appointments

To make the most of your time and ours, we see patients by appointment, which can be made by calling (434) 200-5200.

When you call for your appointment, please tell our staff the reason for your visit and the name of your physician so that your appointment can be scheduled. We also understand that patients cannot plan when to get sick, so we save some time during our day for unexpected problems.

If you are sick, call before coming to the office. If you will be late, you may need to reschedule, so please call our office. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call us as soon as possible.

Emergencies

If you have an emergency after regular office hours, call (434) 200-5200 and a physician will return your call as quickly as possible. If your problem is life-threatening, call 911 immediately.

Medications And Refills

We do not refill prescriptions after office hours. Prescriptions will be refilled during regular office hours and within a reasonable period of time. Your physician may also request that you be seen in the office before a prescription can be refilled.

Fees, Insurance And Referrals

Payment is expected at the time of each visit. We are happy to talk with you about fees, payment and referral arrangements. Our staff will also assist you in filing your insurance. For billing or insurance questions, please call (434) 200-5960 or (434) 200-5980.
