Lydia E. McKay, PA-C, MSPAS
Lydia McKay is a board certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA in 2009 with a Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She has had clinical rotations in Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Dermatology, with her preceptorship being completed at LFMR. Her special interests include women's health, preventive medicine, and minor surgical procedures. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants. Lydia and her husband recently moved to Lynchburg and are looking forward to "planting some roots" here. She is a mother of four adult children and grandmother to Moses.
Special Interest: family, walking/hiking the trails of Virginia, and gardening.
New Faculty

Dr. Freed plans to join the residency faculty in January 2011. After graduation from the Medical College of Georgia in 1999, he completed his family medicine residency in 2002 at the Shenandoah Valley program in Front Royal/Winchester. He also earned a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham in 1991. Since 2002, he has practiced family medicine, optometry and emergency medicine in the rural Virginia counties of Highland and Bath. He is married and has one son.
SPECIAL INTERESTS: medical eye care, diabetes, and procedures.
