Application Requirements
Applications for the program are accepted only through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). All application forms, transcripts, Dean's letters, photos and personal statements must be transmitted via the electronic ERAS Post Office from the individual medical schools. Once your application has been received and processed, you will be notified by mail if you are selected for a personal interview.
The requirements for application to the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency are:
- U.S. Citizen of Permanent Resident. No visas sponsored
- USMLE passed with scores of at least 80 (preference given to those passing on the first attempt)
- Graduation from an accredited medical school within the last 3 years or clinical experience in the US since graduation
- Successfully completion of CSA by July 1 of PGY1 year
- IMGs - Valid ECFMG (if applicable) or valid U.S. License
- 2 current reference letters within the last 12 months
- Participation with NRMP
- Applications accepted through ERAS only
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Deadline for applying: December 31st
- Must come to a face-to-face interview
